A classic Zisha teapot design, the round body of the Wén Dàn (文旦) is inspired by the shape of a pomelo.
This particular Wén Dàn teapot has a large opening and spacious interior, making it a great vessel for brewing larger leaf varietal teas (e.g. certain Pu'erh and White teas) and Oolong teas – both the strip varieties (e.g. Da Hong Pao) and ball rolled Oolongs (e.g. Tie Guan Yin) that quickly expand to fill the pot.
Usage and care:
Rinse and season the teapot before use. Here's a quick guide to show you how. As the clay is porous and teapot is unglazed, dedicate one tea type per pot (or if you wish to take it to the next level, dedicate only one tea per pot). Hand-wash only with water and NEVER EVER wash with soap or detergent. The last thing you want is soapy suds flavouring your next brew.
