ICE BREAKER RAW PU'ER 2025
“Ice Breaker” was the very first raw pu’erh tea that we featured in our range back in 2019. Made from leaves sourced from Hua Zhu Liang Zi, the highest mountain peak in Xishuangbanna, it was a strong and potent raw pu’erh tea. The 2025 season tea more than lives up to its predecessor.
The tea begins deceptively light but soon, after a few steeps, gives way to reveal that signature Pu'er bitterness that's so intoxicating, so addictive and doesn't let up. The metaphor we use is like that of a huge, field of ice – light, bright and cool on the surface, but once the ice "breaks" open, it reveals the dark depths of the deep oceans below that continue on for what seems like forever – hence the name, Ice Breaker.
TASTING NOTES
A light, refreshing flavour of sweet and sour plums and a cooling, minty sensation soon gives way to that signature "Pu'er" bitterness that lasts over many steeps and is sure to kick-start your day. As the bitterness dissipates, a lingering sweetness remains.
PREPARATION NOTES
Gong-Fu style (preferred method)
5g per 80 – 100ml of water
95 – 100 degrees Celsius
5 – 10 secs per infusion* (up to 15 infusions)

STORAGE
Proper tea storage is super important. Improper storage leads to flat, flavourless and potentially weird tasting tea. So as a rule of thumb, keep your tea leaves in an airtight container (the less air inside the better) and away from heat, light, moisture and strong odours.
